Song, Anna, Alex, and Mommy made some new Chinese lanterns to help decorate. Vera is from the Far East, you know...the Russian Far East, that is. Until we got there, we didn't even know there was such a place as the Russian Far East, but as you approach Alaska that's where you are. Eagerly anticipating her gifts....
The obligatory kids' pose before the opening of the gifts. Alex decided to give her a special gift, just from him....some of his old (and unworn) Spiderman undies! Of course, Vera thought it was great!
This was the biggest hit among the gifts. I dont' know what it's called, but they sell them at Target and you can put your feet up on the blue foot marks, turn the steering wheel back and forth and it becomes self-propelled. Vera played on it for HOURS, and all the kids really like it.
Vera and Emma had basketball practice at noon, and my parents came for that and then braved our sick house in order to grill burgers with us and have some of the amazing Spiderman cake! That's Spiderman, hanging from the pole, and he/it can be wound up so that is spins all around to catch both of the bad guys on the cake.
Pretty cool cake, I'd say, but then again I'm cake-impaired.
Happy Birthday, my sweet 9 year old Veronika!!! We love you!!!!!
